 Timpson FFA Officers

Corey Sigler , Ryan Baker, and Anthony Elliot were taken to Carthage on Friday November 30 and Saturday December 1 by Mr. Spivey to complete a course on the operation of a forklift. All three FFA members completed and passed the written test on Friday and the operating test on Saturday to receive their certification as a forklift operator.

Last Week was a busy week for Timpson FFA! The week started with Keaton Bush heading to Dallas for the State Fair of Texas, where he would place 2^nd in the Middle Heavy Weight Division with his AOB Steer, and make the sale. Then this past Saturday, FFA and Jr. FFA members traveled to Center to compete with broilers for the East Texas Poultry Festival. FFA members who showed broilers included FFA members Ryan Baker, Kaylie and Keaton Bush, Ruston Bush , Maggie Bush, Amanda Yates and Jr. FFA members Sara Duke, Ryan Golden, Logan Yates, and Ashlynn Lindgren. In total Timpson FFA had seven FFA and Jr. FFA members make the sale with Ryan Baker receiving the Award for Grand Champion Broilers and High Placing Senior in the Poultry Festival. Last week Timpson FFA members earned more than $23000 for their livestock and broiler projects.

Two of our Timpson High School Seniors received their FFA State Lonestar Degrees at the FFA State Convention held  in Corpus Christi this summer.  On the left Margo Hooper and on the right Christin Lindgren.  This is the highest degree of membership that the State FFA can award.

 FFA Banquet - The Timpson High School FFA banquet was held Thursday May 3 in the elementary cafeteria.  Everyone enjoyed a meal of barbeque provided by Kyle Bush along with potato salad, beans and homemade desserts.  The 2011-2012 FFA officers under the direction of ag teachers Matt Swinney and Jesse Stroud led the program.  Many awards were presented at the banquet to deserving FFA students and FFA supporters.
