Notice of Destruction of Special Education Records

The Special Education Department of Timpson ISD will delete special education records that are no longer required in accordance with applicable law.  All records of special education students that the Timpson ISD served prior to the 2018-2019 school year will be deleted.  The former student or the parent may need these records for social security benefits or other purposes in the future.  If a former student or parent would like to receive their records, they may contact me before July 1, 2026.

El Departamento de Educación Especial de Timpson ISD eliminará los registros de educación especial que ya no sean necesarios de acuerdo con la legislación aplicable. Todos los registros de estudiantes de educación especial atendidos por Timpson ISD antes del año escolar 2018-2019 serán eliminados. El exalumno o el padre, madre o tutor podría necesitar estos registros en el futuro para beneficios del seguro social u otros fines. Si un exalumno o padre, madre o tutor desea recibir sus registros, puede comunicarse conmigo antes del 1 de julio de 2026.

Parent-Guided Special Education Services Grant

Parent-Directed Special Education Services grants have re-opened for the year! Parents of students with an IEP can apply for a one time grant for up to $1,500 to use on educational goods and services. This can include helpful tools, resources, and even therapies to support your child’s learning.

If you suspect an infant, child or young adult of having a developmental delay or disability, your school district can open a window of hope for a brighter future. Services at no cost to the family are available to all eligible individuals from birth through 21 years of age regardless of the severity of their disability.

Special services are available to eligible infants, children and young adults identified with a disability who may be experiencing difficulties in one or more of the following areas:

- Intellectual Disability

- Traumatic Brain Injury

- Deaf/Hard of Hearing

- Visual Impairment

- Other Health Impairment

- Orthopedic Impairment

- Autism

- Emotional Disability

- Developmental Delay

- Learning Disability

- Deaf/Blind

- Speech and Language Impairment
